Post Falls at Lake City girl's basketball 2-9-10
Tonight at Lake City high School was an epic battle between two great teams that was not deiced until the last minutes of the game. In the beginning, Tori Davenport looked as if she was the New Orleans Saints. I almost didn't recognize her as she had " I WANT TO WIN THIS GAME " written all over her face. I can only think of one other athlete I have seen this in and that was Jenna DeLong in a softball game a few years back. Davenport and the Trojans played well throughout even though it appeared she might have been injured in the first half, and Katelyn Loper was injured and had to come out of the game toward the end. Loper had her shoulder wrapped in ice, I hope she is OK.
The story of the game though was Lake City's Gina Mitchell. That Timberwolf was hungry and her team fed her all night long. At one point I think she hit four straight baskets of which 3 were 3 pointers. One in the string tied the game and the next one gave the T-Wolves their first lead if I am not mistaken. And down the stretch it was Sydney Butler, who played some of the 4th quarter with a plugged up bloody nose.
Tough kids, fierce competitors, can't wait to find out who Lake City plays next !
