Ok, I'll quit using all of the texting language I know now. My girls from the Lilac City Roller Girls absolutely KICKED ASS!!! Who ever was keeping score, probably a ringer from the Hellion Rebellion, didn't see it as I saw it as the final score was a little in favor of the team from Canada. Several things stood out to me. First, the Canucks are
pretty darn HOT. Not quite as much so as my girls, though. Second, I am
partial to ladies who write messages on their bottom side, and hide it
under a dress or something. Third, every single girl is much smaller than she appears on skates. I guess that makes sense though. Those skates make them all look like Amazons! To open, two of the Canucks sang Oh Canada! their national anthem. It was amazing. When I photographed the Draft Horse show in Sandpoint, every canuck sang their anthem with the lady who had the microphone. Every one of them. Then, when the Star Spangled Banner was performed, the Canucks sang that, too. I thought Americans had a lot of pride, but so far at every event I have been to where Oh, Canada and The Star Spangled Banner is played, it is the Canucks who sing. Every time. When it was time for The Star Spangled Banner, Rei Zerburnn from the Lilac City Roller Girls sang it. Now, I hear a LOT of singers sing this song. Most are at high schools and some versions are by trained singers. I have NEVER heard a more heartfelt version than 00 performed. It brought tears to my eyes. Honestly, it was beautiful. An speaking of national pride, there was one tart dressed there in a sexy green number for St. Patrick's Day. She told me that she has retired from Roller Derby and that she just joined the United States Army. I'll tell ya something, this makes me proud. This girl was out for fun last Saturday night, but just watching her confidence, her love of life, and her people skills told me that she is something special. I am proud to have her serve in the United States Army. God Bless her. Some bad news for me, Sweetart has retired! She was one of those who would write things on her butt. Darn. But Tone Death was there and skating her ass off. As was Sparkleishish. Whew!! And for some reason, I noticed a LOT of DANCING out there. Singer Rei Zerburnn has got some moves I'll tell ya! Anyway, what a great night!! Not sure when their next bout is, but I have to go. It is too much fun. For more images (80+) and a slideshow click here.
