A few years back I bought a crow call to get Tom turkeys to gobble. Every morning I'd take it into the woods a blow; caw-caw-caw. No, you're on the right page. This isn't a nature story. the call never worked but I still have it. I was thinking I should bring it for when K-Rowe made the big play. I could sound off like a KRowe, caw-caw-caw. In fact, I'll bet all the outdoor stores have Krowe calls in stock and I think we should all get them. It would have been a cacophony of KRowe calls when KRowe drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th of the first game of a double header. Lewiston is a darn good team. And they pulled a pick-off play which nailed MFP, My Favorite Player, at third. Here's what happened. It was first and third with I think KRowe at first and Jessica Ross at third. Putting the game in motion, Coach Tolzmann gave the steal sign or maybe KRowe just decided to fly to second, I don't know. But here's where it gets good.
As a spectator I can tell when a player is faking a throw or when they are really doing it. I saw the Lewiston catcher A. Hoffman, I wonder if its Abby, going for the throw. I thought "dumb play, she'll never get KRowe." But NOOOO! The throw went to K. Baldwin, I wonder if it is Katie, at third! J-Ro looked stunned, as I was, when Baldwin tagged her out. Nifty play, VERY WELL executed! there has to be a lot of communication going on for this type of bang-bang play to work. the Bengals did it very well. I imagine The Lewiston Bengals will be making some noise in the state tournament. But so will the T-Wolves, I have no doubt. Bring your KRowe calls. And here is a picture of J-Ha, just for good measure.
