Lake City advanced to a semi final of sorts beating Eagle 5-0 this afternoon. Lela Work again pitched a great game. Eagle was able to pound the ball a few times, but just here and there. They never really got a rhythm going although the fans were pretty noisy in the first.

Eagle catcher Jami Blea made one of the best plays I have ever seen by a catcher only rivaled by Randy Morder from Camelback High School class of '78. Blea made a diving catch off a Lake City bunt, Morder's catch was in foul territory, this one was fair right between Blea and her pitcher. (Oddly, the Oak Ridge Boys are playing on the radio as I type this, one of Morder's favorite groups way back then)

Reader's know I am partial to catchers, and MFP Jessica Ross had an average day driving in a few runs with a stand up triple. A stand up triple. That girl can motor. Morder also used the description "motor" for a person who was fleet afoot.

Another of my favs, Jamie Hall also played pretty darn well today. Hall is just cool looking, especially when fielding a ball. She looks like a second baseman. Hall and Katie Rowe came close to turning a double play, but that is a tough play on those small fields.

A good day so far for the T-Wolves. One more win today and then one tomorrow would finish it for LCHS. Good luck girls.
