Got to see most of the CHS LCHS district game at CHS today. I'll tell you, it was some good baseball. CHS just over powered the T-Wolves but both teams played well. Viking 3rd baseman Drew Turbin made one of the finest plays I have seen in High School baseball bare handing a bunt and gunning down the batter. Looked a lot like Brooks Robinson. Yeah, I know Brooks who? But check your baseball history, probably the finest third baseman ever. Seriously, do you really not know who he is?
The T-Wolf catcher caught Alex Krapas stealing, I'm sorry I don't know who was catching. The throw beat Krapas by a body length and Julian Burgess made a nice tag. My favorite play in baseball.
And finally, I am hearing things in the bleachers that are disturbing, such as 50% athletic budget cuts at SD 271. Don't know if it is true or not, but check out the condition of the baseball field at CHS in the next photo. Certainly could use some maintenance. Doubt it will get it if the athletic budgets get cut in half.
