Yowee Zowee!! The Kootenai County Saddle Club ROCKS!! What a great barrel racing weekend! A day of reckoning, or at least, a day of wrecks. First, a young man, I don't know his name, did a face plant in the dirt. I felt his pain. 

But even more, I felt his parent's pain. To his credit, and theirs, he got back on and finished the course. GREAT JOB!!!

Then, a Montana girl, Shelby Scherping, did what looked a lot like the old Fosbury Flop after a little miscommunication with her horse. It shook me up and I was at the other end of the arena. 

But, apparently in true barrel racing tradition,  she got up dusted herself off and rode her horse through the timer. Yikes!! 

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Amber Heuett carrying the colors. I can' think of anyone better to ride with the American Flag. Great Job Amber!
